Ode to the Bodega

One of the things I miss about living in Brooklyn was a deli sandwich from the bodega down the street.
At any time of day, you could order an "Adam's Bomb" (chicken cutlet, cheese, bacon) or "the Bedford Blast" (turkey, cheese, bacon), select from the 20+ other types listed, or customize your own. They even throw in a banana and cucumber slices in the to-go clamshell.

If you visited and hung around long enough, then you know the bizness. There's stories of people staying for a couple days and returning to the bodega again and again and again....

No one else makes sandwiches like this bodega. NO ONE.

Even when I manage to make it back, the guy remembers my order: "No cheese; banana peppers on the side..."

There used to be that type of deli/convenience store in northern California, but 7-11 stores have taken over their territory. I miss those kind of deli sandwiches too. Awesome Picture, Phil!
