Carrots and carrots...and carrots.
When I was back in the Bay about a month ago, I got to help out my friends at Boobs4Food, a volunteer group doing great things back home, at the Second Harvest Food Bank in San Carlos.
The task for the day was to sort carrots--HUGE boxes of em that were donated by local farms. I've never seen so many in my life! The bulk of the carrots were distributed to families and food banks up and down the Bay Area while the short/wiggly/funky-lookin carrots were donated to local pet shops for pet food.
These two organizations are doing great work in the Bay (and beyond) so please be sure to look them up and volunteer!

Hey Mom, I'm gonna be in a show!
Hey folks, for the past few months, a few of the art friends from SJSU and I have been gearing up for an art show in LA. Check out the blog for info here.

LAC - NYC Personified - Week of 3/24/10
The assignment this week was to create an image of a person--either real-life or fictional--that represents New York. Mine is an image of a lady that hangs around the Chelsea area subways. She's swaddled in huge blankets/jackets/rags, plays simple melodies on her Casio keyboard, and belts out opera tunes like CRAZY. Haven't seen her since maybe around Christmas time, but hope to run into her again...

Lazy Artists' Club - Sexy Lady - Week of 3/17/10
Lazy Artists' Club is back up and can be found here. This week's theme was "Sexy Lady" which I mistakenly read/remembered as "Hot Chick"...so I give you "HellGirl."

Happy Birthday(s)!
Quick sketches of some of my friends for their birthdays (One of the things I miss most from school is drawing everyone around me!)
