Occupy Wall St.

Recently, I went to Zuccotti Park in the Financial District of New York City where the Occupy Wall Street protests are being held. It was the day before Halloween so some people were in costume, and others, not at all. There was also a drum circle with b-boys and b-girls gettin it in. Basically, there was a lot of character.

Overall, it was a lot calmer and more organized than I thought it'd be after seeing its portrayal on TV, in the newspapers, and online. There's definitely a difference between viewing it and actually being in the environment...

I found out sad news last week that one of my friends from years back passed away. E, the gentle giant/mean-lookin' teddy bear. You're the first person ever that put me on to the Roots and Erykah Badu's "You Got Me." I regret that our paths never crossed all these years, but I'm glad to have known you. You'll be missed.

This weekend, I was (and still am) extremely honored to have been standing with the great Jeff Adams as he wed his equally amazing fiancee, Julie. These guys put on a super fun wedding party in every sense of the word. I'll post more pics as I get em in, because of two words: "superhero cufflinks"...oh, and  "Spider-Man Cake"...and "Eyvind Earle trees"...okay that 3 words. But, you get the idea...
